Explore how I can help

Meet Agnes

A former cat welfare professional with over 15 years of hands-on experience working with cats.

Over those years, I’ve met cats with all kinds of stories and challenges, and seen them at their most vulnerable.

Through my work with leading UK cat charities, I’ve seen first-hand how easily a cat’s behaviour and environmental needs can be misunderstood and how this can ultimately cost cats their homes. It taught me to look beyond the behaviour and see the cat behind it: their body language, emotions, personality and individual needs. I’ve helped frightened cats find their confidence through environmental enrichment, and cats struggling with their behaviour go on to find a happier new chapter.Understanding what cats are trying to tell us can make a real difference — not just for shelter cats, but for the cats sharing our homes too.

That’s why Mew Chapter was born: to help you connect with your cat, strengthen your bond and make life happier for both of you.

About Agnes

My love of cats began in southern France, where I grew up surrounded by rescue cats...

I’d always wanted a career working with animals, so I went on to study Life Sciences, completing my Master’s degree in France. My journey into animal welfare began with volunteering with Cats Protection and Celia Hammond Animal Trust, and grew into more than 15 years of hands-on experience with cats across rescue, rehoming, veterinary and home environments. At Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, I spent my time getting to know cats as individuals, understanding their behaviour and needs, and helping them find the right new homes. I also supported cats and their new guardians through rehoming and beyond.I later became Deputy Cattery Manager at Woodgreen, where I continued to work closely with cats and the people caring for them, including adopters, foster carers and volunteers.

My work has taken me into veterinary environments too, including the RSPCA’s Putney hospital and managing a busy cattery within the Goddard Veterinary Group. Alongside this, I’ve been involved in feline welfare projects with International Cat Care and Trap-Neuter-Return programmes for feral cats.In 2020, I began working as a professional cat sitter, and in 2025, I officially established Mew Time Cat Sitting in South West London. Caring for cats in their own homes has deepened my understanding of how their environment, routines and relationships can influence their wellbeing. My interest in feline behaviour continued to grow, leading me to qualify as a Feline Behaviour Counsellor under the mentorship of Caroline Clark, an experienced Clinical Animal Behaviourist and full member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors.

And then, there's Keela...

Keela, my 17-year-old black and white rescue cat, has shared so many chapters of my life. From the moment she came into my world, she’s been a constant companion — and, like all cats, she’s taught me that there is always more to understand than first meets the eye.Living with her has given me a very personal appreciation of the bond we share with our cats: the little routines, the quiet moments, the things they communicate without words, and the trust that grows over time. She continues to remind me every day why understanding, respecting and caring for cats matters so much.

Everything I’ve learned from the cats I’ve met along the way has shaped how I support cats and their guardians today.

A closer look at life from your cat’s perspective

A focused 30-minute session exploring your cat’s environment, routines and everyday needs, with practical suggestions tailored to them and your home.

What can we look at together?

Every cat is different, so we’ll focus on what could make the biggest difference to their well-being.During the session, we’ll look at:

  • Their home environment and resources — how well their space meets their needs

  • Enrichment, play and stimulation — opportunities for activity, exploration and mental engagement

  • Daily routines and lifestyle — how feeding, sleep, play and other routines fit their needs

  • Opportunities to express natural behaviours — scratching, climbing, hiding, exploring and more

A Cat Well-being Session can be particularly helpful when welcoming a new cat into your household or helping a new cat settle in alongside an existing cat.

What your session includes

  • 30-minute one-to-one session — focused on your cat and their individual needs

  • A look at their home and lifestyle — exploring their environment, resources, routines and enrichment

Cat Behaviour Support

90 minutes · In person

Because behaviour always has a story.

When your cat’s behaviour changes or becomes difficult to understand, it can be hard to know what they’re trying to communicate.Together, we’ll explore what may be behind the behaviour and find practical ways to support your cat.

A little something for my local community - 10% off!

Through my work as a cat sitter, I've built lovely connections with cats and their guardians in my local area. Supporting this community of cat lovers means a lot to me, so to give something back, I offer 10% off Cat Behaviour Support to local clients.

What I can help you with

Cats can show us that something isn’t quite right in many different ways. I can support you with common behaviour concerns such as:

  • Litter tray problems & house soiling

  • Fear, anxiety & stress

  • Scratching furniture & other destructive behaviours

  • Tension or conflict with people or other pets

These are just some of the concerns I can help with. If you’re unsure whether your cat’s behaviour is something I can support you with, you’re always welcome to get in touch and we can talk it through. If your cat’s behaviour could be related to an underlying health issue, I may recommend speaking with your vet before or alongside behaviour support.

Your journey with Mew Chapter

1. Tell me what’s happening

Before we meet, you’ll complete a detailed questionnaire about your cat, their history, their everyday life and the behaviour you’ve noticed. This gives me time to understand the situation before I come to your home, and gives you the space to tell me your cat’s story in your own words.Depending on the concern, I may also ask you to provide photos or videos and relevant veterinary history.

2. Let’s put the pieces together

I’ll come to your cat’s home for a 90-minute one-to-one session. If the behaviour happens while I’m there, I’ll have the opportunity to see it for myself. Your cat may also simply go about their usual routine, and that’s absolutely fine too. There’s no need to encourage them to interact with me if they don’t want to, or to change anything for my visit.I’ll take the time to listen, answer any questions you may have and, where appropriate, may offer practical advice during the session, while keeping my visit as calm and minimally disruptive as possible for your cat.

3. Let's make sense of the behaviour

We’ll look beyond the behaviour itself and explore what may be contributing to it, what your cat could be communicating and how different factors might be affecting how they feel and respond.Rather than simply asking “How do we stop this behaviour?”, we'll aim to understand why it may be happening in the first place.

4. Find a way forward

Within 5 working days of our session, you'll receive personalised, practical recommendations based on your cat, your home and what we've discussed together. The aim isn't to give you a generic checklist. It's to give you a clearer understanding of why the behaviour may be happening and what you can realistically do to help.

5. You’re not on your own afterwards

You’ll have two weeks of email support after our session, giving you the opportunity to ask questions, share how things are going and clarify anything as you begin putting the recommendations into practice. If a brief phone conversation would be more helpful, we can arrange this where appropriate.

Let's talk about your cat!

I'd be happy to hear from you and find out a little more about you and your cat.
